Gobble, gobble

So, it's turkey day. We as per the usual turkey day routine, are going to my parents' home for the feast. My in laws are coming too. This has turned into a tradition, for which I am very greatful. I am so happy that I do not have to run to ten different places today, to see all the family. I am happy that everyone gets together, in the same house for this holiday.

Almost every year, I would make a dessert for the end of the feast. This year is slightly different. My brother has a girlfriend, who is very sweet. She seems to be quite the baker. She already put dibs on the pie making, and a couple of other things. Now this is quite the change for me. Usually I am the one to bring dessert. I almost feel as though I have been phased out. I know that isn't the case, but man is it tough to share the baked goods spot light.
Since she was making dessert, I decided to make rolls and hash brown casserole. Since I am really good at bread like products, and the dessert category was filled, it seemed only natural that I make rolls. Besides, who doesn't like rolls? Besides all the carb counting freaks?

That's another thing, if you want to loose weight, eat less, move more. Don't drop things from your diet, like breads and grains. I detest all those fad diets, they just are not healthy in the least. Jesus, if you are going to do something as stupid as Atkins, you may as well stand in front of on coming traffic, eventually you too will become skinny from doing that, when you are decaying in your coffin after being hit by the bus barrelling down the road towards you. Eat fat, fat, fat, but no grains. What the fuck ever.

And if you are going on Atkins, learn how to spell it, It is Atkins, not Adkins like so many morons, I mean people think.
Do people honestly think that by cutting out grains, they are going to lose weight? What about the increased risk of heart disease? What about the kidneys shutting down? What about the nasty rank breath from this "diet"?

I have no will power at all, yet I have managed to shed 55 pounds in the last two years. Yes it has taken time, but you know what, I am thinking I will keep the weight off. Now if I can do it, I am thinking anyone else can.

What's your secret might you ask? Well I cut portions down to smaller sizes. I drink more water (gag). I try to move a wee bit more then the average couch potato. I do not deny myself anything food wise. I just eat less of it. I don't have 2-3 portions. I don't eat crap all day long. If I am hungry, I go get something to drink. Not rocket science here people.

Anyway, Happy Freakin Thanksgiving.
Gobble, gobble.
