So cg&e is no longer. Now they are owned by some huge company called Duke. Can I just say they suck ass?
Yesterday, well last evening really, I had just got Spenser into the tub, and heard this loud ass boom coming from where the furnace and water heater are. They are both natural gas powered. I checked it, it looked fine, could not smell gas inside. Went out to the back yard to look up at the roof, because that is where all the exhaust goes, and see nothing. Now I have to tell you I thought that maybe it was a squirrel running into the pipes or something. But, I smelled gas. I go back in and check again. Nothing seems wrong, no gas smell, no nothing. Go back outside, no gas smell. Don't really think anything of it, go about my business.
Today I am washing my hands after washing up some dishes. The water is not as hot as it should be. I start thinking if the water heater, which is like maybe 2 years old at most, is broken. It would of course be my luck if that were the case.
I go check it, no water leaking anywhere. Then I notice the water heater is not actually warm, like normal. I get down and look, and I don't see the pilot light on. So I go through the instructions on how to light the SOB. I do it once, it lights and then goes out. I turn it off. Wait and try again. Nothing.
I call the fucking gas company, and some dickhead in a call center answers. Tries to tell me that to get them to come out is a 50 dollar fee, since it is probably my pilot light that needs re lit. I explain that it isn't just that. That I had seen crews working on the lines yesterday, smelled gas lastnight, and now this isn't working. He then decides to cover his ass and tells me that he will have a crew out here within the hour. Then he adds the whole spiel about getting out of the house if I smell gas, and not lighting anything, or using anything that might spark. Well duh, ass munch.
So here I sit. A little dizzy because I had my freakin face down to the gas line. Waiting for the gas company to show up and tell me what the fuck they did to my lines, and how much it will cost me. I am waiting for the babies to wake, so I can take them to sit in the garage for a bit on the off chance that it is gas in the house.
Damn it all to hell!
