World AIDS Day

I dedicate this post to my uncle Tim.

A life snuffed out.
A life unfulfilled.

A man who loved with all of his heart.
A man who was loved with a full heart.

11 bothers and sisters, all full of sorrow.
1 mother with her heart broken.

2 as 1 no more.

No more paintings.
No more drawings.

No more I love you.
No more see you later.

Millions of tears.
Thousands of sobs.

A family now incomplete.
Life never the same.

Tim,
You have been gone for so long now, and yet I miss you as much today as I did then. I miss hearing your voice. Laughing at your jokes. Seeing you hug my mother, your sister. I miss seeing you.

I wonder, would you have painted a picture of my son? Would you have become the next Picasso, or Pollock? Would you have liked my photography, the way I liked your painting?

So much lost in your death.
I love you Uncle Tim.
I miss you.

Aids is a horrible disease. Unfortunately I have seen how it takes a life so full of promise, and snuffs it out in such a flurry of pain and suffering.

It knows no boundaries. It afflicts the poor. The rich. Straight. Gay. Black. White. Male. Female.
Today is world Aids day. Do something. Read about it. Donate money. Open your mind. We need a cure.
