Do You Believe In Fantasy?

That happens to be a line frequently quoted from an Austin, Texas concert that TOFOG held some years back. I am selfishly using that right now to escape from my life at the moment. To make a long and whiny story short, this morning getting the six year old ready for school was dreadful. Now on to that fantasy.

I watched the Golden Globes the other night, for no other reason, then to perve on Russell Crowe. He did not disappoint. My god that man just gets better and better with age. I think I actually swooned, because my husband ran out from the other room, just to make sure there was nothing wrong! All I could think was, OMG how lucky is that reporter to get to talk him. Hell just to be on the same red carpet as him. Then I wondered if he was wearing any cologne, and if so, what was it, and where can I buy it for my hubby. Oh good lord I sound completely nutters, but you know, one must have a hobby, mine just happens to be Russell.

I loved his tux. He looked so good in it. The hair needed a bit of a cut. I really prefer shorter hair on men. Not sure why, but I just like a good haircut on a guy. The stubble on the face, oddly enough, I love. So it is not like I want a clean cut guy, just a clean cut haircut. Bizarre I am.

He looked very relaxed. That is a good thing. Not that I know him personally, but he seems to me to be a person that takes things very seriously. Which can be good and can be bad. He seems to be someone who is constantly at war with himself. It must be exhausting. But again, what the hell do I know? He could be completely different. Actually I bet he is.

I was very happy to hear that he and George Clooney buried the hatchet, and now the verbal battle between the two will stop. It was so ridonculous (I just love the way that sounds). Two grown men arguing about stupid shit, through magazine interviews. Duh.

Now the real fantasy for me, would be to meet Hottie McCutie Pants. That would be totally awesome. I of course would probably drool on myself, and pass out, and pee my pants. Thus he would think I was mental, which I have never said anything to contest that, and run as fast as possible to get away from the "Looney Toons". I could so totally see the conversation---
"Hey, you are Russell Crowe!!!" huge excited stupid grin on my face.
"Yes?" Well aren't you a smart one.
"Wow. You are Russell Crowe. Wow. I love you, I mean, I think you are great..." Crap.
At this point my face would do one of two things, turn beet red, or ghost white.
"Are you ok? You look unwell." Oh god not another cuckoo.
"Me, I'm, um, what did you ask?" OMG, I am such a spazoid.
"Are you ok?"
"I, you, wow, uh...." Thud. Crack. Groan.

And that would most likely be the extent of it. Because after that, he would run, I would cry and be mortified, and never ever tell anyone.

But, if we are talking fantasy this is how it would go:
"Hi." I am so cool. Do not over react.
"Hi?" Great another fan. Why can't they leave me be.
"I didn't want to bother you, but obviously I am , so I just wanted to say, hi, I think you are great. Your movies are awesome!" Ok, hold it together. Don't freak.
"Thank you. Did you want an autograph?" Ok, so she isn't flipping out. Good.
"If it isn't to much trouble, that would be great." So Cool!!!
"Here you go!" Alright, can finish _____________ now!
"Thanks!" AWESOME. Walk away. Don't look back. Don't hide in the bushes and spy on him.

And that my friends is the fantasy on this cold, snowy, dreary day. At least my mind isn't completely gone! Hahahahahaha!

LOL I have to say that fantasy can be a good thing... esp. when it involves Russell Crowe.
I actually got to live out yours! I was SO afraid I'd be tongue twisted or say something totally stupid, as I've been known to do, but I actually did a good job! A great thing about him is when he's meeting a fan he looks you straight in the eye and makes you feel that you are the only other person on the planet. I had been told that that is a very important thing to Aussies. They judge your character/sincerity by whether you look them in the eye as you're speaking to them. So, if you ever get a chance to make your dream come true, look him in the eye.
Good luck!
