Well, Spenser's doctor finally called back on Friday. She has now put him on a new anti-psychotic called Abilify.
Before getting it for him, I read up on it. It sounds like a freakin miracle drug. Very few side effects, which is awesome. I can only hope it works well for Spenser, and soon.
Friday was an awful day for him. After lunch he turned into a monster. Would not do his work. Threw away his journal, cut up his papers, and tried to move a chair, which had to be pried from his hands. Just when I think things are getting better we have a huge setback. All of the above was not the worst part of Friday. He told his teacher, who is the sweetest woman, that he hated her. When she spoke to me on the phone, she sounded almost in tears.
I feel horrible that he would say that to her. Poor woman is going to end up having a a nervous break down before the year is over.
So needless to say, he was and still is to some extent, in major trouble. He had his game cube taken, his computer taken. He also was not allowed to watch any TV or movie on Friday. He sat for about 2 hours on Friday after school, during which, I made him write out all of his valentine cards, and then start writing out the list of spelling words he has, that goes till the end of the year. At some point today he will write his journal entry, so he can take it to his teacher tomorrow.
I don't know what else to do. I can only control him so much. Once he is out the door, he has to make the choices, and then accept the results. He has a huge, like major king kong problem with accepting blame for anything he might do.
Sigh.
Life is...................
